Born in Antigua and raised in Canada, Clifton Joseph is a popular poet, educator, performer, and journalist. He has written for publications like The Globe And Mail or Contrast Magazine while also being an active member within pop culture through different outlets whether with solo poetry readings, performing on stage with bands, or teaching a group of students. He has authored the acclaimed Metropolitan Blues, a book of poems; several recordings of poetry & music including his debut album Oral / Trans / Missions, his latest album Shots On Eglinton.

He has received numerous awards for his work including the Silver Fleece Award at the Chicago International Film Festival for the TVO-produced Dub Poets documentary. He is a two-time Gemini Award winner, two-time Best Dub Poet Award and Peter Tosh Memorial Award winner at the Canadian Reggae Music Awards New York TV Festival Silver Award A Time Inc. “Freddie Awards” Gold winner for Health Reporting Bronze Plaque (for Rhyme Pays: Hip Hop and the Marketing of Cool) and Honorable Mention (for The problem with Boys) from The Columbus International Film and Video Festival.

Kedrick James is a language naturalist, exploring the wilds of discourse and befriending all the strange creatures he finds there. He explores improvisation and extends his poetics to music and other media. He is the founder of PhoneMe, a free mobile app for place-based spoken poetry and believes in poetry as something of, for, and by the people. He has published his work in books, magazines, journals and on vinyl records, cassettes, CDs and online. He is best known as a spoken word performer, and in this capacity has toured internationally, been featured on TV, radio, podcasts and theatrical productions. He currently works as a professor in the the Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University of British Columbia, and is writing on a new book about poetry in the age of language-generating Artificial Intelligence. He spends his spare time on his ranch in the Boundary Country of southern British Columbia.


Angela Rebrec is a writer, singer and graphic artist whose work has appeared widely in journals such as GRAIN, Prairie Fire, EVENT, the Dalhousie Review, Pulp Literature and NationalPoetryMonth.ca 2020 Ode to the Small. Her writing has been shortlisted for several awards and contests including PRISM International’s Nonfiction Contest. Angela’s most recent art can be viewed online with Chicago’s Woman Made Gallery. Angela currently facilitates writing and expressive arts workshops for kids and adults of all ages. She lives in Delta, BC with her husband, three children and dog on unceeded Musqueam and Tsawwassen lands.
