About The Panelists
For 30 years Frances Peck, CPE (Hon.), was an editor, ghostwriter, and educator and an active member of Editors Canada. Recently she returned her first love, writing fiction. Her debut novel, The Broken Places, about a major earthquake rocking Vancouver, was a Globe and Mail best book of 2022 and a finalist for the Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writer Prize. Her second novel, Uncontrolled Flight, about the death of a firefighting pilot, hit the shelves on September 1.
ROBYN SO, an Editors Canada-certified structural and stylistic editor, is still in awe that she gets to work with writers and publishers on their fiction and non-fiction manuscripts. What a privilege! When she's not leaning over the pages of a style guide, she may be found leaning over the handlebars of her bike, enjoying the Lower Mainland's fabulous cycling infrastructure, or crouching over a campfire with Girl Guides, inviting girls and women to challenge themselves and be empowered.
Tiny but mighty! A ravenous reader, witty writer and energetic editor is all of the above and simply known as Stephanie. Early editing stages of her career date back to collecting swear words on the playground and correcting fellow kindergarteners on how to read Dr. Seuss. She is currently accepting freelance projects that help others tell their tales, and is happy to share her publishing and editing education.
