Two editors edit and discuss new work by a local author, live in front of the audience. This intimate look at the editing process showcases how different editors’ contributions are as individual as each author’s style. Peek behind the curtain to witness how the creative and technical sides of the editing process interweave to bring out the best in an author’s words.

About The Facilitators
Kyle Hawke is a poet, voice artist, and editor. Through his various interactions with words, he knows how they can change the world and wants to give them the platform to do so. whispers of humanity, Kyle’s first collection of poetry in book form, juxtaposed with the art of Wade Edwards, was launched at the start of the pandemic. He claims no causal relationship. He lives in Vancouver, BC.
Tara Avery is a Canadian editor, writer, ghostwriter, and coach currently based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She holds a BFA in Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing from UBC. She is a member of Editors Canada and the Association of Independent Publishing Professionals, as well as a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
